Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive exfoliation that uses a sterile blade to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair. It reveals newer skin, smooths texture, and improves product absorption, performed by our trained esthetician.
Ideal candidates have dull, dry, or sun-damaged skin, peach fuzz, fine lines, or acne scarring. Those with active cystic acne or certain skin conditions may be advised against it; consult our esthetician for a personalized assessment.
Most clients enjoy smoother skin and improved radiance for about three to four weeks. Hair regrowth is soft and natural; repeat treatments every four to six weeks are recommended to maintain results and continual exfoliation.
Dermaplaning is generally comfortable and well tolerated. You may experience mild redness or sensitivity for a day or two, but there’s minimal downtime. Most clients return to normal activities and makeup application the same day.
Dermaplaning helps reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars and evens skin tone by removing damaged surface layers. For deeper scarring or significant hyperpigmentation, combination treatments may be recommended alongside dermaplaning for best results.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and strong acids for a few days before and after treatment. Use gentle cleansers, hydrating serums, and broad-spectrum SPF daily. Our esthetician will provide a tailored aftercare plan to maximize healing and prolong results.
